Line Through Time Sculptures in Progress

We began our projects with sketches regarding the theme "Line Through Time". From their we made faces out of one continuous piece of wire. We based our wire face sculpture off contour line drawings we completed in our sketchbook. After the wire face we began our final "Line Through Time" Sculptures. Students were given the opportunity to choose their own medium, including clay or wire. The students are now working hard to complete a free standing sculpture with the medium they choose to reflect, "Line Through Time".
                                                        Here our projects in progress!

  1. The students are creating very unique and original sculptures based on the idea/ concept of line through time! I am very impressed with their individual thoughts. I am looking forward to the students posting images of their final completed sculptures!

  2. All of these projects are so unique and original, I enjoy looking at all the different ways my classmates and I interpreted line through time. From the shape, to style, to even the materials we use, all of our projects stand out from one another and show a variety of pieces of work.

  3. I have enjoyed this project right from the beginning! Everyone's individual interpretation of "line through time" are very different. I enjoyed that we were able to choose our media and have the ability to combine materials. It's great to see the different ideas that we have and that no two projects are the same! The environment of class is great and students are always helping others to make their project better!

  4. I really liked this project. I like how free it was. The only criteria was to represent "line through time", we were allowed to use whatever medium we wanted and combine them in whatever way we wanted. I liked how all the projects looked different because the project was so free.

  5. I enjoyed the concept of "Line Through Time". We were given the opportunity to test different methods in order to create a meaningful sculpture. There's a strong diversity with all the sculpture in the class which is what I enjoyed. My classmates' different perspective on the concept made me think a lot. The class room is a great place to try out different things!

  6. This project let us express our different views on what we thought showed "line through time". I liked how we were able to come up with our own ideas. One thing I didn't like was the dust from the plaster. It had a few problems but they were overcome and in the end it turned out to be a nice piece of art.

  7. This project gave us the chance to challenge ourselves and think out of the box. This required a lot of brain storming and class discussion. It helped a lot how we discussed as a group getting ideas off other classmates that we could further add our own twist to it. The assignment, "Line Through Time", was showed in several different art pieces and in different materials. I really enjoyed this project. This project helped me think more out of the box when i approach my artwork.

  8. This project was unique because it allowed the students to create anything that had line and showed line through time. This allowed students to think on a bigger scale of creativity. i liked this project because i worked with a medium that i have little experience with an i think my project is turning out to be a success. :} {:

  9. My fellow art students and I all worked on clay projects with the concept of line through time. I worked with both wire and clay. all of our projects are equally amazing bu yet so different. The ideas my classmates and I used are very original and free. I enjoyed working on this project because it allowed me to do what I liked.

  10. This project lets me to be able to let my mind roam freely. This clear mind was able to let me create a fabulous wired lobster that was very shocking to me because my art style does not include animals. Now hopefully i can finish a base that matches the beauty of my lobster.
