From Fits Function : Thematic Tea Sets

the students in Adv. Sculpture and Ceramics created tea sets based on their own chosen themes.  The challenge was to create a "set"of ceramic pieces vs. their usual "one of a kind " pieces.  The students' varied themes made for an interesting exhibit of work!

Wearable Art: Corrugated Cardboard Hat Designs

The students in Adv. Sculpture and Ceramics used their sculpting skills to create wearable art to communicate a message about themselves through the use of shape, form and texture in their fashionable designs!  Their hat designs all made bold statements as they wore them around the classroom on critique day.  The students' inspirations came from contemporary sculptors and hat designer pieces that they researched on their own prior to their sketching phase of the assignment.
